What Squarespace is good at

Squarespace is known for strong, design-led templates among mainstream builders and a genuinely pleasant editor. For a portfolio, a restaurant, a studio or any business where the visual impression carries the sale, it is a sensible and often excellent choice. The typography and layout defaults are strong enough that a non-designer can produce something tasteful, which is not true of every builder.

Where local service businesses need more

A local service business is usually not selling on aesthetics, it is trying to turn a search into a phone call or a booked job. That needs a lead form that lands somewhere useful, follow-up that happens whether or not you are on site, a number people can text, booking that writes to your calendar, and a way to keep customer conversations organized. A beautiful site with a contact form that emails an inbox nobody watches is a common and expensive failure mode.

How LeedAgent fits

LeedAgent is a CRM and follow-up platform first. Websites are not our main product, but we do build them: you can build a site in your account with the AI Desk, and we look each site over and fix what needs fixing, because the AI Desk is not perfect. Behind the site sit contacts and a pipeline, a shared inbox for texts, email and WhatsApp, calendar booking, automation for follow-up, forms and surveys, and analytics and A/B testing. We are based in Tampa, Florida, and work nationwide in English and Spanish. LeedAgent is built in house, not resold from another platform.

The newer difference: run the whole thing from your AI

LeedAgent also speaks the same open standard (MCP) that ChatGPT and Claude speak. You connect your AI once from your dashboard through a secure OAuth connection, with no code. Access is gated by plan. After that you can work your business by asking, in plain English or Spanish: where the leads are, what needs a reply, what is on the calendar, what your ads are doing. About 105 tools cover contacts, conversations, calls and texts, booking, billing, your websites and forms, and your Meta ads. Anything risky, like publishing a page or changing an ad, stays in draft until you approve it.

It works with ChatGPT, Claude, or any AI assistant that supports MCP tools. And it is optional: the built-in app does the same jobs, so you can tap through your phone on a job site and ask your AI about it later. Same system either way.

The math

Squarespace gives you a site editor and hosting. If you also need the CRM, phone, messaging, booking, follow-up, ad conversion tracking and ongoing site work, those jobs still need an owner. With LeedAgent, the CRM and the tools sit together in one account.

Who should choose which

Choose Squarespace if the visual impression is the product and you want to own the design yourself. Choose LeedAgent if you need the phone to ring, want the follow-up to happen automatically, and would rather not run the tooling. Some businesses genuinely fit the first description, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise.
